Rides

The Highland Rim Bike Club has something for everyone from beginners to the more advanced rider. During the peak riding season, there are social rides every Tuesday evening at 5:00/5:30. Additionally on Tuesday nights the big guns come out to play for the “Shootout.” These guys ride 20+ mile average. The Saturday morning bike rides vary from week to week, sometimes we all start together with the faster folks heading out early and those who want a more leisurely ride taking off later. Often times we encourage our members to support the events of other area clubs on Saturdays. We also have a very strong mountain bike community here as we are very close to AEDC’s fantastic trail and the newer mountain bike trail at Tim’s Ford Lake. All in all, if you like cycling…you’ll find a ride to your liking.
Elk River Valley 100
Of course we host our annual cycling event too. The Elk River Valley 100 is a fantastic way to get to know us better and enjoy a great day on your bike. We hold the event each year on the second Saturday in September. Come out and join us to enjoy some of the finest cycling scenery the Tennessee Valley has to offer. Of course the bratwurst meal at its conclusion is pretty good too! In fact a recent participant was overheard to say “the brat meal at the end is to die for.”
