Bike Club Meeting
You don’t want to miss this meeting of the Highland Rim Bicycle Club. We’ll follow our normal agenda of a very short business meeting followed by some fun and games. After that, those that would like can join us at Casa Mexico for dinner.
Winter Blues Party
The Mach Tenn Running Club’s annual Winter Blues Party is set for February 23, 6:30 PM, at Al Hennigan’s house. As is their custom they have once again invited the Highland Rim Bicycle Club to attend. Many folks are members of both clubs so this party is where everyone has a chance to talk and tell ‘war stories.’ There is no running or biking involved, just social. The club will provide the food and drinks.
In order to get an idea of how much food and drink to provide, please reply to Melissa via email to let her know that you plan to attend. Even if you are not sure that you will be able to make it, still let her know that you are planning to be there. Better too much food than not enough.
Summer Party
The most well attended event the club hosts all year is our Winter Blues Party that we host usually in January. Because of the attendance at that event we decided we would try to have a summer get together.
WHO: Running and Bike Clubs
WHERE: Al Hennigan’s sister’s lake house on Tims Ford Lake close to the State Park
WHEN: Saturday, August 18th, 5:30pm or so
Here’s the plan- assemble at the house and pool at or about 5:30pm on the 18th. As always, there will be food and beverages provided and once you RSVP you will be given explicit instructions on how to get there.
For those motivated, we may also hatch a plot for a group run, bike, or swim from the house starting earlier than 5:30, and there are plenty of showers to accommodate anyone who would like to cleanup afterwards. Please note – this gathering is all about the social – the run/bike/swim is not required.
Please reply to this email if you plan on attending.
Summer Sizzler Club Meeting
It’s meeting time again. We’ll call this one the “Summer Sizzler.” It has been a crazy, hot summer!
We’ll follow our usual format of a short business meeting (1/2 hr or less) followed by a short guest speaker and then dinner. So here’s the scoop:
When: Thursday evening at 5:00, August 16
Where: Highland Hills Church of Christ, 720 Kings Lane, Tullahoma, TN
What: Short business meeting to talk about our annual Elk River Valley 100 as well as a few other interesting topics
Special Guest Speaker: George Powell the 5th
Topic: Tips, tricks, etiquette for riding in a group
Reservations have been made at Casa Mexico on Jackson for those who wish to have dinner together after the meeting. Feel free to bring a guest to the meeting and dinner. The meeting will last about an hour and then we’ll head to Casa around 6:00.
Hope you can make it.

Looks like high 50s and sun on Monday. How about 1:30 from the park? About 2 hours and 30 miles?

New Year Kickoff Club Meeting
This first club meeting of the year will be informational, fun, and a great time to bring the whole family to learn a little bicycle maintenance. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to gather with your cycling friends.
- We’ll have the usual business meeting the first 20 or 30 minutes. Lots of exciting stuff to share with you regarding what the club is planning this year.
- Next George Powell (Geody) will be demonstrating/teaching us how to prepare for and change a flat on your bicycle.
- The meeting will adjourn and those that would like to eat dinner will meet at Casa Mexico where we have a room reserved.
Mark you calendars and invite all your cycling friends/family to join us.
Motlow Spin
I think me and Grady Wells will be leaving out from Motlow and going on about a 20 mile route. We would like to have more people out there because we are not planing to kill the ride at all, we will just take it easy.
