Social Tuesday Ride @ Frazier McEwen Park
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

This ride is the longest running of the club’s standing rides. The idea is to have a moderate paced and length ride to acclimate new or returning riders to club rides. It’s also designed to teach some of the craft of group riding, to introduce a lot of good local routes, to teach some rudimentary repair techniques as needed (like on the road flat repair), and perhaps to teach how to handle dogs. Typical distance is ~15 miles.

The end result is intended to produce riders that are knowledgeable and self sufficient on the road. By the way it’s okay to also have a lot of fun too! Also, this ride is not restricted to newbys–if you want a nice class C or D evening ride, this is it and you’re very welcome.

The group will adapt its pace to the slowest rider and no one will be left.

Come on out!

Join a group of mostly retired folks as they wander around the surrounding counties. Average speed is around 15 mph. Rides vary considerably based on the makeup of the group each Thursday. If you are interesting in riding with the group, contact Dave Bond via email to find out where the ride will depart from, time and even intended route. The ride is of course weather dependent (have you ever known any retired folks that enjoy riding in the rain) and departure time will move to later in the day as temperatures fall.

NOTE: There is no time on the calendar because it changes week to week. Please confirm the time and place with Dave ahead of time

Bike the CRAM @ Rossview High School
May 25 all-day

Join us for the Clarksville Rotary Annual Metric (CRAM) ride on May 25, 2013. With distances of 100 miles, 62 miles, 35 miles and 20 miles to choose from through some of the flattest country around. This ride promises to be fast and fun! The CRAM is sponsored by the Clarksville Rotary Club.

The CRAM begins and ends at Rossview High School at 1237 Rossview Road. The courses travel over the rural roads of Todd, Logan and Christian County, Kentucky and Montgomery and Robertson Counties in Tennessee. The routes offer little traffic and great scenery, including the opportunity to see the area’s Mennonites in their horse-drawn carriages, the Jefferson Davis Monument in Fairview, as well as Beachaven Winery.

So come out and enjoy one of the best supported and flattest rides in the South! Don’t miss the spaghetti dinner (including Dairy Queen ice cream) after the ride.
